New Premier Training Facility Offers Education for All Foodservice Professionals
SHEBOYGAN, WI – February 10, 2011 – The Vollrath Company, the foodservice industry’s leading manufacturer of quality smallwares and equipment, is opening Vollrath University - a premier 10,000 square foot training facility in Sheboygan, WI. Since Vollrath has the largest and broadest product offering in the foodservice industry, the university’s programs will include instruction on a full range of prep, cook, and serve elements, providing excellent all-around training opportunities for all types of foodservice professionals.
Vollrath University will provide customizable training programs, enabling visitors to tailor their own curriculum with a wide variety of product education sessions. The facility features the following simulated foodservice operations that allow participants to experience products within their environments:
- Front-of-house restaurant/hotel/banquet
- Back-of-house commercial kitchen
- K-12/college and university cafeteria
- Stadium and arena
- Grocery and/or convenience store
In addition to hands-on product demonstrations and comparisons, the facility’s multimedia classroom with stadium seating allows for engaging presentations and discussions. The facility also features a media-enabled open boardroom that overlooks the various foodservice environments and a fully functional kitchen for product and cooking demonstrations. Also, since the university’s simulated environments feature Vollrath’s full array of products from kitchen essentials and cookware to countertop prep, cooking, display and mobile equipment, visitors are provided with a first-hand look at Vollrath’s latest product introductions.
Vollrath University is located within Vollrath’s primary manufacturing plant and a short drive from Vollrath’s three other Wisconsin-based manufacturing facilities. Near the university, an array of accommodations, dining and other activities are available for visitors to enjoy during their stay.

Vollrath plans to develop a comprehensive list of training sessions to share with industry professionals this summer and begin launching programs for visitors by fall. The facility itself is currently open for training events through local Vollrath representatives.
